Working as a part time DJ, I have the opportunity to share music with lots of energetic (albeit slightly intoxicated) people. This interaction really helps me understand what gets people moving on the dance floor.
Once in a while, I’ll mix in my own beats, and based on the crowd’s reaction, I can split-test if you will, what kind of beats are popular at the different clubs I work at.
The software I use is called DubTurbo, and it couldn’t be easier to use. I’m no music producer, and I’m not even a musician for that matter, so simplicity is key.
The tracks that I output with this software are studio quality, and I’ve even sold a few for local commercials - it helps, because the DJ life may seem like a luxurious one, but the pay is far from it.
